NaPoWriMo Poem Day 20 ~~ Old Memories

NaPoWriMo Poem Day 20 ~~ Old Memories

Old Memories

Handmade toys, long forgotten

Faded photos, tarnished frames

Abandoned? Why, I wonder?

Someone’s past memory.

Pocket watches, old glass faces

Dusty with age and time

Despite faltering, life went on?

Someone’s timeless memory.

Purple velvet lined jewelry box

Empty now, but for stale air

Hopes and dreams once lay inside?

Someone’s cherished memory.

Dried flowers, sad…

The Sea Shell Silly Poem

Seashells in the water I see
Try as I might I can’t get to thee
Rolling waves crash, so blustery
As I reach to grab a shell by my knee
Water so cold now I’m all achy
Big shells, small, ones shaped as a berry
Eek! This one is all slimy
Reaching deep, I grab one that’s showy
Red in color, really quite swirly
Yonder beckons another discreetly

Taking my treasure I gathered…

Rain Flowers

Spring brings soft rain
winter ends its pain
flowers in glorious color
stand tall and reign

New green grass grows
rain never slows
it’s refreshing drink is savored
only a matter of time I know

Soon color to the land will come
flowers, shrubs, gardens, so awesome
Windows opened wide, no longer
will I be sunk in winter’s boredom

I rejoice in rain clouds in the skies
as birds…

NaPoWriMo Day 17 Poem ~~ Love’s Embrace

NaPoWriMo Day 17 Poem ~~ Love’s Embrace

Hello people! For today’s poem I’m doing something that is far from what I normally do.  Romance, yeah, not my usual stuff that I write about. Since this month is about stretching my writing, after all I am doing National Poetry Writing Month, and many think of poetry as romantic.

I thought I would venture into romantic poetry a bit. Now I have to admit, I did have some help, so I am dedicating…

Lies?

I am a tall, lanky woman, hair of deep blue
Eyes that sparkle purple, skin a reddish hue

My smile is quite scary, teeth made of wooden rounds
Fingernails long and sharp, arms that hang to the ground

Legs like strong oak trees, hair growing lush and long
Body that defies description, so muscular and strong

A round firm butt, that sticks out to there
Small and perky breasts, I even…

NaPoWriMo Day 15 Poem ~~~ Two Kittens

NaPoWriMo Day 15 Poem ~~~ Two Kittens

Today’s poem I have tried to follow the NaPoWriMo website’s prompt. As I have no idea what I am doing half the time, I sure hope this works.

Today, I challenge you to write a poem in Terza Rima. This form was invented by Dante, and used in The Divine Comedy. It consists of three-line stanzas, with a “chained” rhyme scheme. The first stanza is ABA, the second is BCB, the third is CDC, and so on.…
